The choice of ownership affects both start-up costs and operations in general. Let's characterize both options.
IP:
  • One personal account should have at least 5,5 thousand €, on the other - from 3,5 thousand.
  • To extend the residence permit, you must stay in the country for at least six months within 365 days, submit a tax report and pay taxes. The profit must be at least €5,000.
  • The personal income tax is 15%, the medical insurance fee is 80 € per month.
  • Tax bonuses - 350 € annually for each child.
  • Money can be withdrawn and deposited without restrictions.
  • You can hire any number of employees.
  • An individual entrepreneur vouches for the business with all his property.
  • On the basis of IP, you can get a residence permit for your family.
  • IP cannot be sold.
  • Suitable for small businesses and hired personnel who have concluded a service agreement with the employer.

Firm:
  • The company account should have at least 24 thousand €, on a personal account - from 3,5 thousand €.

After choosing the appropriate status of doing business, you need to figure out what documents are needed to apply for a residence permit on the basis of an individual entrepreneur or company:
  • application for a residence permit in the Slovak Republic (mandatory in Slovak);
  • biometric passport (for states with a visa regime, the passport must have open D visas);
  • certificate of non-conviction with an apostille, translated by a court interpreter of the SR, from the country of citizenship and from the states where you have been for the last 3 years for more than ninety days within six months;
  • statements from banking institutions on the availability of funds;
  • registration in Slovakia;
  • IP certificate or statutory documentation of the enterprise;
  • Two color photographs 3x3.5 cm.

Please note that when applying for a residence permit, they must be no older than three months. All documents received abroad must be apostilled and translated into the state language of Slovakia by a sworn translator.

Yes. If you open an IP remotely, you do not need to stay in Slovakia for two weeks, it is enough to come for five days to open a bank account and deposit funds.
