Impressive Slovak Castles

Slovakia is an amazing country, on a relatively small territory of which there is a huge number of different attractions. There are about 170 castles and fortresses. Among them are ruins standing on high cliffs and well-restored castles that have become museum complexes.

Oravsky Hrad is one of the most picturesque castles. It is located on a rocky limestone cliff above the Orava River. It has preserved the charm of authentic medieval architecture.

Trenčiansky Castle is a castle complex with a magnificent panorama. It is located on several terraces above the Vah River. It is one of the greatest national cultural monuments of Slovakia.
