Requirements for obtaining a residence permit in Slovakia

Those who wish to settle in Slovakia need to familiarize themselves with the basic requirements for obtaining a residence permit:

Confirmation of purpose. It is necessary to select and document the basis for the residence permit. This may be study, business, work or family reunification.
Proof of financial security and housing. For those planning to stay here for more than a year, financial security must be twelve times the subsistence minimum.
A certificate of no criminal record and a valid passport. A certificate is required not only from the country of citizenship. If you have been in other countries for more than ninety days during six consecutive months over the past three years, certificates from these countries will also be required.
Correctly filled out application. The application in electronic form is generated at the stage of registration with the police. In order to avoid any questions during the visit to the police, you need to fill out all the points without errors.
State fees and 2 color photographs measuring 3x3.5 cm. All administrative fees are paid upon visiting the police in person.
