Children's Day in Slovakia

31.05.2024
June 1 is celebrated in many countries as International Children's Day. The decision to hold it was made in 1925 at the World Conference on Children's Welfare in Geneva. In Slovakia, this holiday has been celebrated since 1952.

The idea of the holiday was to draw the attention of society to the need to protect the rights of the child. On this day, adults spend the day together with their little ones: they go out into nature, participate in festive events, travel.

Many cities in Slovakia celebrate this day. Various celebrations, performances, and sales of sweets and toys are held in city squares. Face painting, braiding, floorball, castle-shaped trampolines, table football and hockey, distribution of balloons and ice cream – all of this creates unforgettable impressions for children. Participants of the event receive a charge of positive emotions and a great mood.
