Changing insurance company in Slovakia

There are three insurance companies in Slovakia: VšZP, Dôvera, Union. Each of them has a number of advantages. The monthly amount of insurance premiums is the same.

You can change your insurance company in Slovakia only once a year. For the changes to take effect next year, you must submit an application before September 30, otherwise the change will only take place a year later.

To change your insurance company, you need to deregister from your old insurance company, fill out an application and send it to the selected company, which will process the registration after checking the application. The application can be withdrawn until September 30 without giving reasons. This is done in writing.

In case of a change in insurance, it is necessary to inform the employer about it in order to avoid a fine of 331 euros. The attending physician is notified by the insurance company itself.
