School holidays in Slovakia

In 2023, classes in Slovak schools will begin on Monday, September 4. The start of the school year is shifted due to the celebration of Constitution Day, which falls on Friday.

School holidays schedule in Slovakia for the 2023/2024 academic year:

• Autumn holidays fall on October 30 and 31, and school starts on November 2.
• The Christmas holidays will last from December 23 to January 7, with schoolchildren returning to school on January 8.
• The dates of spring break in 2024 vary by region. First, schoolchildren in the Banská Bystrica, Trenčín and Žilina regions will have it from 19 to 23 February. Students in the Košice and Prešov regions will have it from 26 February to 1 March. Children in the Bratislava, Nitra and Trnava regions will have it from 4 to 8 March.
• The Easter holidays in 2024 will run from 28 March to 2 April, with school resuming on 3 April.
• Summer holidays traditionally begin on July 1. The 2024/2025 academic year begins on Monday, September 2.
