Minimum wage in Slovakia

21.09.2023
The minimum wage in Slovakia will increase by 50 euros in 2024 and will amount to 750 euros. This became known following negotiations of a tripartite commission consisting of representatives of trade unions, employers and the Ministry of Labor.

According to Slovak law, the minimum wage from 2021 is linked to the level of average salaries in the country. It must reach 60% of the average salary for the last two years. In 2021, the minimum wage in Slovakia was 623 euros, in 2022 it increased to 646 euros, and from the beginning of 2023 it is set at 700 euros.

At the end of 2022, the real average monthly wage in Slovakia fell by 4.5%. This is the largest drop in the indicator in the last ten years. A decrease in the real wage, which takes into account actual income adjusted for inflation, was recorded in all eight regions of the country.
