Change of address for residence permit in Slovakia

08.09.2024
According to the Slovak Residence Permit Act, every third-country national must notify the Alien Police of a change of residence no later than 5 working days from the date of the change of address. Otherwise, the foreigner may be fined or even deported. The change of address must be reported to the Alien Police Department located in the area of the new residence address. This department must request that the foreigner's personal file be forwarded to the police at the place of residence.

Since the address is indicated on the residence permit card, it is necessary to apply for its reissue. The application for a residence document is filled out on the police website and submitted in person to the police department for foreigners at the new place of residence. A document confirming the new residential address is attached to the application. This document must be no older than 90 days and have a notarized signature of the owner. You must also provide a color photo 3x3.5 cm, a valid passport and a current residence permit card. The administrative fee for filing an application is 10 euros or 29 euros for expedited issuance within 2 working days.
