Trademark Registration in Slovakia

A trademark in Slovakia is any graphic sign used to individualize products, provided that it is capable of distinguishing goods and services from those of other companies. It must be registered in the Trademark Register of the Industrial Property Office of the SR.

What should be missing from the image:

• partial or complete logos of other companies;
• state symbols;
• names of public figures and names of other enterprises without their consent;
• calls for criminal activity;
• elements of an immoral nature;
• offensive details;
• false and misleading information;
• information that is contrary to the Trademark Law.

To register a trademark in Slovakia, you need to check its availability in the SR trademark database, contact a patent attorney or lawyer, prepare an application for registration, a description of the trademark, a list of goods or services for which it will be used, and pay the registration fee. Then submit an application for registration to the Industrial Property Office in Slovakia and wait for a decision.
