Equivalence of grades in Slovakia

30.10.2024
Equivalence of grades is a document that Slovak universities require from foreign applicants. The document contains information about the academic level of the applicant at school. In Slovakia, 1 point is the highest level (excellent), and 5 is the lowest (unsatisfactory).

Each faculty of various universities in Slovakia sets its own requirements regarding what academic credits should be used to issue grade equivalence. Most often, this refers to transcripts of results for the last 3-4 years of study or an appendix to the certificate.

To correctly process the conversion of grades at the request of a Slovak university, you need to submit an application to the Ministry of Education of Slovakia. The equivalence is formed within a month. It is more convenient and faster to convert the results on the territory of Slovakia, given the short time from the issuance of the transcript of grades by the school to the final deadline for submitting the equivalence to the university.

The applicant is required to compile a set of documents strictly in accordance with the requirements of a specific university; arrange for the conversion of grades according to the instructions of the faculty and have the educational document recognized.
