- passport or residence permit card confirming identity;
- both vehicle registration certificates;
- notarized power of attorney, if the owner or buyer cannot appear in person;
- purchase agreement or deed of gift;
- compulsory liability insurance policy issued in the name of the new owner;
- proof of payment of the administrative fee for re-registration.
The transfer of ownership must be completed within 30 days after signing the contract. By law, the registration fee is usually paid by the buyer, since it is they who submit the application. However, the parties may agree that the seller or an authorized representative makes the payment instead.
If desired, it is possible to keep the existing license plates. In case of replacement, the former owner is required to return the old plates at the time of registration. The procedure can be carried out at any road inspectorate within the country.
