Steps to take if a Ukrainian international passport is lost in Slovakia
11.10.2026
If you have lost your Ukrainian international passport in Slovakia, you do not need to return to Ukraine to apply for a new document. The Passport Service of the State Enterprise “Document” operates in Bratislava, where you can apply for an international passport, including a replacement for one that has been lost or stolen.The following documents are recommended for the application:
- Ukrainian national identity passport;
- Ukrainian tax identification number (RNOKPP), if you have one;
- your previous international passport, if you still have it;
- any other documents that may help verify your identity and personal details.
If your international passport was stolen in Ukraine, an extract from the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations (ERDR) will be required when applying for a new document. For a passport lost or stolen abroad, the Passport Service website does not specify a separate requirement to provide an ERDR extract.
The Passport Service of the State Enterprise “Document” in Bratislava is located at: Prievozská 5434/6A, Bratislava, Pressburg Tower.
Currently, the Bratislava Passport Service operates exclusively by prior appointment. Verification through Diia.Signature or the National Bank of Ukraine’s BankID system is required to book an appointment in the electronic queue. Collection of completed documents is handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Before visiting, check the current requirements and list of documents on the Passport Service website, as service conditions may change.
