Changing the status of a residence permit in Slovakia

Most often, foreigners in Slovakia change their residence permit status to entrepreneurial. This is possible if they have a private enterprise or a company.

To apply for a change in the purpose of a residence permit, you must provide an application, a photo, a bank statement from a company account, a statement from an individual entrepreneur account, a statement from a personal account, and registration in Slovakia. You must pay the state fee, the production of a plastic card, and a courier. The Foreign Police considers the change of status within three months. After receiving a residence permit, you must purchase an insurance policy.

If you decide to change your residence permit status from entrepreneurial to employment, you need to consider a couple of things. The employer must be registered with the Ministry of Labor. The vacancy must be posted on the website for 20 working days. The employer must indicate in the vacancy that they are ready to employ citizens from third countries.

The following documents are required: application, paid residence permit card, paid insurance policy, passport, photo, registration in Slovakia, employment contract or invitation to work. The employment contract must specify the period for which the contract is concluded, as well as the position, work schedule and monthly salary.
